Ans: (D) Maternal Uncle. Since Q’s mother was the sister of P, therefore, P is the maternal uncle of Q.

Ans: (B) Father.  Since the old man’s son is my son’s uncle, therefore old man’s son is my brother, hence old man is my father.

Ans: (C) Sister. R is the cousin brother of P and S is the cousin sister of A. Hence S is the sister of R.

Q 1015) Introducing a lady, a man said, “Her mother’s husband’s sister is my aunt.” How is the man related to the lady  ?

(A) Brother     (B) Brother-in-law      (C) Cousin     (D) Nephew

Ans: (C) Cousin.  Here her mother’s husband means her father and her father’s sister is man’s aunt. Therefore the man and lady are cousin.

Q 1016) Looking at a portrait of a man, P said, ” His mother is the wife of my father’s son. Brothers and sisters I have none. At whose portrait was P looking ?

(A) His brother     (B) His father     (C) His uncle     (D) His son

Ans: (D) His son.  Since P has neither a sister nor a brother, therefore, P is the only son of his father. Hence the mother of the portrait is the wife of P. Therefore the portrait was of P’s son.
