Q 2599) The average of the first 7 multiples of 7 is —

(A) 25     (B) 28      (C) 32     (D) 35

Ans: (B) 28

Solution:

First 7 multiples of 7 are 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49.

There average = (7+14+21+28+35+42+49)/7 =196/7 =28

Q 2600) In the given figure the missing figure is —

(A) 6       (B) 7      (C) 8       (D) 9

Ans: (B) 7

Solution: In figure first, 3+9 =12; In figure second, 4+7=11; and in figure three, 5+7 = 9+3

Q 2601) A rectangular paper of width 12 cm and length 22 cm rolled along it width and a cylinder is formed. The radius of the cylinder is —

(A) 2/7 cm     (B) 7/2 cm      (C) 2 cm    (D) 7 cm

Ans: (B) 7/2 cm

Solution:

Circumferance of a circle =2πr, where π=22/7

According to the question, circumferance of a circle (i.e. one face of the cylinder) =length of the rectangular i.e. 22 cm

Therefore, 2πr=22,  or, 2×22/7xr=22; or, r= 22×7/22×2=7/2 cm

Q 2602) In the figure given in question number 2600, the volume of the cylinder formed is —

(A) 342 cm³    (B) 396 cm³   (C) 462 cm³  (D)  472 cm³ 

Ans: (B) 462 cm³ 

Solution:

The volume of a cylinder = πr²h;  or, π x 7/2 x 7/2 x 12 =147π cm³ = 462 cm³ 

Q 2603) In the figure given in question number 2600, if the outer surface area of the cylinder is painted @ Rs. 1.50/cm², then the total cost of painting is —

(A) Rs. 300     (B) Rs. 356       (C) Rs. 396     (D) Rs. 426

Ans: (C) Rs. 396

Solution:

According to the question, the outer surface area of the cylinder = length x width = 22 x 12 cm²

Total cost of painting @ Rs. 1.50/cm² = 22 x 12 x 3/2 = Rs. 396

Q 2604) In the given figure missing figure is —

(A) 2        (B) 3      (C) 4        (D) 5

Ans: (B) 3

Solution:

In figure first, 8+1+3+4 =16 ; In figure second, 4+8+5+3=20; and in figure three, 6+3+5+4 =18
