CUET UG Courses 2026

We welcome you in today’s post on CUET UG Courses 2026 is as follows:

Common subject mapping rules for specific courses B.Com, B.A, and  B.Sc  for CUET UG 2026

Here are the common subject-mapping rules for CUET UG 2026 when choosing subjects for B.Com, B.A, and B.Sc, courses.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce)

Subject Mapping Rules

For B.Com and B.Com (Hons.), the most common CUET subject combinations include:

  • 1 language + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + 2 other domain subjects (e.g., Economics, Accountancy/Bookkeeping, Business Studies).

  • Or 1 language + Accountancy/Bookkeeping + 2 other domain subjects (Economics/Business Economics, Business Studies/etc. for B.Com (Hons.)).

  • Mathematics is not compulsory for all B.Com courses — but certain universities or specialisations may require it, so checking university criteria is crucial.

Commerce Domain Subjects

  • Accountancy / Bookkeeping

  • Business Studies

  • Economics / Business Economics

  • Mathematics / Applied Mathematics

  • General Aptitude Test (if required)

B.A. (Bachelor of Arts)

Subject Mapping Rules

  • Any one language from Section I (e.g., English, Hindi, etc.) + 3 domain subjects from Section II.

  • Domain subjects usually suited for arts include:

    • History

    • Political Science

    • Sociology

    • Economics

    • Psychology

    • Geography

    • Anthropology

    • Mass Communication/Media studies

    • Home Science

    • Other humanities/social science subjects.

  • General Aptitude Test (Section III) is optional unless a university specifically requires it.

Example Patterns

  • B.A. (Hons.) English → English (language) + any 3 arts domains.

  • B.A. (Hons.) Philosophy / History / Sociology → Any language + 3 relevant domain subjects.

In most cases, 1 language + 3 domain subject combination is the standard template for B.A. courses.

B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science)

Subject mapping for B.Sc. depends on the specialisation stream chosen:

Science Group (Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Maths)

Typical combinations include:

Course Recommended CUET Subjects
B.Sc. (Hons.) Biology / Botany / Zoology / Biomedical Science Any one language + Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies
B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry / Physics / Polymer Science Any one language + Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics
B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science Any one language + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + any two domain subjects (e.g., Physics, Computer Science, IP, etc.)
B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics / Statistics Any one language + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + any two subjects from science/social sciences
B.Sc. (Hons.) Environmental Science / Geology Any one language + Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Geography or other related subjects

Generally, for science programmes, your core science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Maths/Biology) must be part of your CUET subject list.

CUET Subjects for B.Sc. (Biology) at DU

Core Domain Subjects

For most bio-science B.Sc. (Hons.) programmes at DU, you must choose the following domain subjects in your CUET form:

Physics (Domain subject)
Chemistry (Domain subject)
Biology / Biological Studies / Biotechnology / Biochemistry (Domain subject)
Any one Language (usually English, from Section I)

These subjects form the standard subject combination for biological science courses like:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Botany

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Zoology

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Biological Sciences

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Biomedical Science

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Microbiology

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Anthropology (bio focus)

Important: While DU does not generally require the General Aptitude Test (GAT) for science groups, taking it can sometimes increase your eligibility options across colleges

For B.Sc. (Hons.) Biochemistry, sometimes Mathematics can replace one domain slot (but Biology or a biological domain is still strongly recommended).

When filling your CUET 2026 form, make sure:

  • You choose the domain subjects that are required by DU for the specific B.Sc. programme you want.

  • Biology and Chemistry and Physics are your main subjects for bio-science options.

  • You include English (or another language) as required.

Always verify from the official DU CUET eligibility bulletin or CSAS portal after you register, because subject mapping rules can be updated.

These are some specific subject combinations you must take in CUET UG 2026 if you want to apply for B.Sc. (Biology)-related courses at Delhi University (DU) and get eligible for top DU colleges (like Miranda House, Hansraj College, Sri Venkateswara College, Kirori Mal, Deshbandhu, Daulat Ram, etc.) that offer these programmes.

DU B.Sc. (Biology) – CUET Subject Combinations (Course-wise)

1) B.Sc. (Hons.) Botany

Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry
Any one language (e.g., English / Hindi) in CUET.

2) B.Sc. (Hons.) Zoology

Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry
Any one language.

3) B.Sc. (Hons.) Biological Sciences

Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry
Any one language.

4) B.Sc. (Hons.) Microbiology

Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry
Any one language.

5) B.Sc. (Hons.) Biomedical Science

Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry
Any one language.

6) B.Sc. (Hons.) Biochemistry

Combination 1: Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry + Physics
OR
Combination 2: Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics
Any one language.

Note: This is slightly flexible; maths can be included instead of physics for some DU colleges.

Which DU Colleges Offer These Courses?

Most major DU science colleges that take CUET scores and offer B.Sc. (Biology) streams include:

  • Miranda House

  • Hansraj College

  • Sri Venkateswara College

  • Kirori Mal College

  • Deshbandhu College

  • Daulat Ram College

  • Ramjas College and many others across DU’s Faculty of Science

Tips Before Finalising Subjects

List target universities and courses first. Each university may have its own subject mapping chart — this is not one universal list.
Ensure your CUET subjects include all mandatory domain tests for the course you aim to study.
You can select up to 5 subjects in CUET UG2016 — 1 language, 3–4 domains, and optional General Aptitude if needed.

University specific subject mapping for DU, BHU, JNU and other university

Here are university-specific subject-mapping tables and examples for CUET UG 2026 admissions at some of the major CUET-accepting universities like Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). These show subject combinations required for popular UG courses such as B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com (general/arts/science/commerce streams) — based on the official CUET subject mapping criteria and university eligibility outlines.

1) Delhi University (DU)

General Pattern: DU generally requires candidates to appear in CUET subjects such that they match the course-specific combinations (e.g., languages + domain subjects + general test where applicable). Merit is calculated from the best valid CUET combination.

B.A. (Hons.) / B.A. Programmes

RU Course (e.g., B.A. Hons) Typical CUET Subject Requirement
B.A. (Hons.) History / Pol. Sci / Sociology / Psychology / Philosophy / Social Work / Humanities & Social Sciences Any one Language (Section I) + Any three Domain Subjects (Section II)
B.A. (Hons.) Economics Any one Language + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + Any two Domain Subjects
B.A. (Hons.) Multi-Media & Mass Communication Any one Language + One Domain Subject + CUET General Test (Section III)
Languages (e.g., French, Spanish, German, Arabic, Italian) Language from Section I + Any three Domain Subjects OR Any one language + three Domain Subjects
Note: DU often lists multiple combinations (e.g., 1 language + subjects from Section II and/or general test) — merit calculation picks the best valid score.

2) Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

BHU has its own program-wise eligibility and often includes subject-based criteria, especially for science, commerce, and vocational programs.

Sample Mapping

Program CUET Subject Requirements
B.A. (Hons.) Social Sciences/Arts Language Test (English or Hindi) + General Test – 50%+ in 10+2 (Math recommended for Economics)
B.A. (Hons.) Economics English/Hindi + General Test (and usually Mathematics in CUET or Class XII)
B.Sc. (Hons.) (Bio Group – Zoology, Botany, Geography etc.) Biology/Biotechnology + Chemistry + Physics (three domain science subjects)
B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics Group Mathematics + Physics + Chemistry (core three)
B.Com (Hons.) / B.Com Accountancy/Bookkeeping + Business Studies + General Test (50%+ aggregate)
B.Voc. Courses & Vocational Language + General Test OR Specific subjects (e.g., Biology, Computer Science)

Eligibility Tip: BHU typically expects 50%+ in class 12th aggregate and course-specific pass subjects (like Maths for B.A. Economics).

3) Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)

JNU also has subject-specific mapping rules that vary by course/Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programs and UG streams.

Sample Mapping

Program / Test Required CUET Subjects to Appear In
General UG (Arts/Science/Language) Depends on course — 1 Language + Domain Subjects + (General Test if required) — exact combination by program.
Certain COP & Specialized Subjects E.g., Sanskrit + Physics + Chemistry OR specific combinations involving General Aptitude Test and Biology/Maths options.

Note: JNU CUET mapping can include combinations where multiple subject groupings are valid — check the official JNU CUET eligibility sheet for details.

Other University Examples (Illustrative)

Allahabad University (AU)

Programme CUET Mapping
B.A. (Programme) / B.A. (Hons) English or Hindi (Section I) + One Domain Subject (Section II) or Any combination of domain + general test relevant to course.
