Coding-Decoding:

Solution: 75-30-50÷10=45-5=40

60-20-80÷16=40-5

Similarly, 60-15-45÷5=45-9=36

This is a coding-decoding type of question. It involves a hidden pattern to replace the symbols A, B, and C with mathematical operations  – and ÷ , then applying that pattern to the next equations.

Q 3928) In a certain code language if SUBTRACTION is coded as 153, ADDITION is coded as 84, then DIVISION will be coded as?

(A) 96    (B) 109    (C) 122    (D) 127

Ans: (B) 109

Solution:

Take A=1, B=2, ………………… Z=26

SUBTRACTION=142

Add number of letters in it = 142+11=153

ADDITION=76

Add number of letters in it = 76+8=84

DIVISION=101

Add number of letters in it = 101+8=109

Solution: The sequence is -1 for the first letter and -3 for the second letter.

6 and 4

(A) 6+4 x 8-7=45    (B) 6+4 x 2-5=11    (C) 4-6+8=10    (D) 6÷2+4 x 3=24

Ans: (D)

Solution:

(A) 6+4 x 8-7=45

After interchange:

4+6 x 8-7=4+48-7=45 Correct

(B) 6+4 x 2-5=11

After interchange:

4+6×2-5= 4+12-5=11 Correct

(C) 4-6+8=10

After interchange:

6-4+8=10 Correct

(D) 6÷2+4 x 3=24

After interchange:

4÷2+6 x 3=24

4/2 +18=20, hence 24 is not correct.

Seating Arrangement:
