Solution:
1 Big square: ADGJ; 1 medium square: CEIK; 4 small squares: ACQK, CDEQ, EGIQ and IJKQ; 8 very small squares in ACQK: ABML, BCNM, MNQP, LMPK, and in EGIQ: EFUG, FGHU, HITU, TQRU
Q 3859) P and Q get the same salary. Their basic pay are different. Their allowances are 65% and 80% of the basic pay respectively.What is the ratio of their basic pay?
(A) 10 : 12 (B) 11 : 12 (C) 12 : 11 (D) 12 : 10
Ans: (C) 12 : 11
Solution:
Suppose the basic pay of P and Q is Rs. 𝑥 and Rs. y respectively.
Ratio between their basic pays=𝑥 x 165/100 = y x 180/100
=𝑥/y=180/165=12/11=12:11
Q 3860) The total age of a father and his son is 60 years. The different between their ages is 30 years. The age of the father will be?
(A) 35 years (B) 40 years (C) 45 years (D) 50 years
Ans: (C) 45 years
Solution:
Suppose the age of father and his son is 𝑥 and R y respectively.
According to the question, 𝑥+y=60 and 𝑥-y=30
By adding both, (𝑥+y=60) + (𝑥-y=30)
2𝑥 = 90
𝑥=45 years
