Ans: (C) 4√2

Solution:

The radius of circle =4 cm

It means diagonal of the square =8 cm

Side y =1/√2 x Diagonal =1/√2 x 8 =8√2/2 =4√2

Q 2564) 60% of 220 = ?  x 15

(A) 7.8     (B) 8.0     (C) 8.4     (D) 8.8

Ans: (D) 8.8

Solution:

60% of 220 =?  x 15

or, 60/100 x 220 =?  x 15

or, ? = 60×220/15×100 =8.8

Q 2565) The length and breadth of a  rectangle field are increased by 12%. By what % is the area increased ?

(A) 14.40%    (B) 14.04%     (C) 25.04%    (D) 25.44%

Ans: (D) 25.44%

Solution:

Percentage increase in area ={12+12+(12×12/100)}%

=24+1.44=25.44%

Q 2566) 6 1/y  x  4/5 =5, then value of y is –

(A) 2      (B) 3      (C) 4     (D) 5

Ans: (C) 4

Solution: 6y+1/y =5×5/4; or, 24y +4=25y; or, y=4

Q 2567) If the product of two numbers is 39 and their sum is 16, the larger of the two numbers is —

(A) 10      (B) 11      (C) 12      (D) 13

Ans: (D) 13

Solution: 13 x 3 = 39; 13 + 3 =16

Q 2568) Which of the following numbers when added to 7, will be divisible by 13 ?

(A) 48      (B) 53       (C) 56       (D) 58

Ans: (D) 58

Solution:  58+7 =65; 65/13=5

Q 2569) If the sum of three consecutive numbers is 15, the middle number is –

(A) 4      (B) 5       (C) 6       (D) 8

Ans: (C) 6

Solution:

Suppose the three consecutive numbers are y, y+1, and y+2.

According to the question, y+ y+1 + y+2 =15

or, 3y + 3 =15; or, 3y =15-3 =12; or, y =4

The middle number is 4 +1 =5
