Dear Students, we welcome you in our post CUET-General Aptitude-13/04/2025.

Important Formulae:
(1) Gain% =Gain/CP x 100%
(2) Loss% = Loss/CP x 100%
(3) SP= (100+Gain%/100) x CP
(4) SP= (100-Loss%/100) x CP
(5) CP= (100/100+Gain%) x SP
(6) CP= (100/100-Loss%) x SP
Q 3578) A seller charged his customers 24% more then the cost price. If a customer paid Rs. 6,200 for a item, then what was the cost price of that item?
(A) Rs. 5,000 (B) Rs. 5,500 (C) Rs. 6,000 (D) Rs. 6,500
Ans: (A) Rs. 5,000
Solution:
CP=(100/100+Gain%)xSP
CP=(100/100+24%)x6,200=100/124×6,200=Rs. 5,000
Q 3579) A seller bought an item for Rs. 360 and sold it with 28% profit. The approximate selling price of the item will be?
(A) Rs. 459 (B) Rs. 461 (C) Rs.463 (D) Rs. 469
Ans: (B) Rs. 461
Solution:
SP= (100+Gain%/100) x CP
=(100+28/100)x360 =128/100×360=Rs. 460.80
Q 3580) An item which costs Rs. 40 is sold for 25% profit. If the cost of the item is increased by 10% and the profit percentage remains the same, then the selling price will be?
(A) Rs. 45 (B) Rs. 50 (C) Rs. 55 (D) Rs.60
Ans: (C) Rs. 55
Solution:
New CP = Rs. 40+10%= Rs.44, Gain=25%, then SP=?
SP= (100+Gain%/100) x CP
= (100+25%/100)x44= 125/100×44=Rs.55
Q 3581) A seller buys a dozen eggs for Rs. 5.50 per egg. While carrying them, 2 eggs get damaged. He sells the balance eggs at Rs. 7.70 per egg. The net profit earned will be?
(A) Rs. 10.70 (B) Rs. 11 (C) Rs. 12.50 (D) Rs. 13
Ans: (B) Rs. 11
Solution:
CP= 12 eggs @ Rs. 5.50= Rs.66
SP= 12-2=10 eggs @ 7.70= Rs.77
Profit= Rs. 77 – Rs. 66 = Rs.11
Q 3582) A person spends Rs. 38 on a toys @ Rs. 7 and spoons @ Rs.5. Find the number of toys purchased?
(A) 2 (B) 3 (C) 4 (D) 5
Ans: (C) 4
Solution:
Cost of 2 items = Rs. 12
For Rs. 38 maximum number of items purchased= 2/12×38=6 approximately.
Let 𝑥 be the number of toys purchased and (6-𝑥) be the number of spoons purchased.
According to the question, 𝑥 x 7 + (6 – 𝑥)x5 =38
=7𝑥 + 30 -5𝑥 =38
=7𝑥 -5𝑥 = 38-30
=2𝑥=8
𝑥=4
