In all previous years’ CUET-UG General Test Papers there is atleast one question of 5 marks from the topic Percentage. Thus, the topic is very important for CUET General Test. Today post on Percentage is as below:
Q 2908) Anil spent 14% of his income on electricity bills, 28% on rent and 18% on shopping. If 1/4th of the remaining amount is Rs. 5,120, how much did he spend on electricity bills? (CUET-UG General Test 2024)
(A) Rs. 7160 (B) Rs. 7168 (C) Rs. 8160 (D) 8168
Ans: (B) Rs. 7168
Solution: Anil spent 14% + 28% + 18% = 60% on electricity bills, rent and shopping. The balance remains 40%. As per question, 1/4th of the remaining figure is Rs. 5120 and 1/4th of the 40% is 10%. It means 10% is equal to Rs. 5120 and 14% on electricity bills is 5120/10 x 14 = Rs. 7168.
